CipherMax Names New Senior Director of Sales and Business Development
Charles Portnoy to Expand Strategic Relationships to Accelerate Company Growth in the Storage Security Market
San Jose, Calif., – October 9, 2007 – CipherMax®, Inc., the technology leader of enterprise-class storage security solutions, today announced that Charles Portnoy has joined the company as Senior Director of Sales and Business Development. Portnoy brings to CipherMax over a decade of experience in direct, OEM, channel sales and strategic business development within the storage industry. He will be responsible for expanding current market opportunities for the company’s CM line of products through strategic relationships with technology partners and resellers.

Most recently, Portnoy served as director of business development and OEM sales at InMage Systems. At InMage, he focused on creating OEM relationships within the continuous data protection software market, exceeding revenue goals in his first three quarters. Portnoy and his team helped build the company’s national channel strategy, adding more than 20 key resellers and integrators into the program within months of inception.
Prior to InMage, Portnoy served in sales management positions at AMCC/JNI, Hitachi Data Systems and Tactics. At AMCC, he developed and maintained global OEM relationships with companies that include IBM and EMC, along with numerous Fortune 500 end users in the financial and pharmaceutical industries. Portnoy has a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Communications from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
